Soaring with Faith: Deborah Edwards’s Journey as a Missionary Pilot

Celebrating Women of Aviation Week with a Story of Resilience, Community, and Divine Guidance

In honor of Women of Aviation Week, Good Company host Hollie Taylor sat down with MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) missionary Deborah Edwards to explore her inspiring journey as a pilot and her impactful mission work in Haiti. Deborah’s story is one of faith, resilience, and the transformative power of community support. Deborah’s passion for aviation began unexpectedly. She shared how a childhood fascination with planes evolved into a calling to serve others through mission aviation. Her journey wasn’t without challenges, but her unwavering faith and determination propelled her forward.

As a missionary pilot, Deborah has flown countless missions in Haiti, delivering supplies, providing medical evacuations, and connecting remote communities with essential resources.

During the interview, Deborah emphasized the importance of community in her work. She credited her support system—family, friends, and fellow missionaries—with helping her navigate the highs and lows of her career. Her faith, she explained, has been her guiding light, providing strength during difficult times and reminding her of her purpose.

Deborah’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the impact one can have when they follow their calling. Her work in Haiti transforms lives and inspires others to pursue their dreams, no matter how daunting they may seem.
